Acceptance of Terms

These Terms & Conditions are applicable to all people using this site. Please read them carefully as by using the site or placing an order you are bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, please do not use this site. We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions periodically and it is your responsibility to ensure that you check for any changes made. Your continued use of this site after any changes indicates your acceptance of the changed terms.

Cookies

Cookies enable us to keep track of your current shopping session in order to make the experience personal yourself and cookies allow you to return to your basket at a later date. If you choose not use cookies please do not use this site.

Registration

When you place an order with TJ Hughes On-line you will be required to enter a valid e-mail address in order to receive confirmation e-mails regarding your order. This e-mail address will be used to create a user account that is individual to yourself and can be used to speed up any further orders you wish to place with TJ Hughes online. You will also be assigned a password to ensure the security of your account. Do not let anyone else have access to this password. If you think that someone may have access to this password please contact us at webenquiries@tjhughes.co.uk and we will reset your password for you to update. Passwords are never viewed by TJ Hughes staff and we will never ask you for your password.

Delivery Agreement

Our standard delivery time is 5 working days but we try to have most orders with you in 3 working days. Some products have an extended delivery time as they are delivered direct from the manufacturer and the estimated delivery time for these items will be indicated on the product description.

Ordering

Your order is placed when you press the confirm button in the checkout once you have entered your delivery and payment details. At this point your order is not considered to be accepted by TJ Hughes and enters our order processing stages.

You will receive an e-mail to the address supplied confirming your order is ready to be processed and also confirming the items ordered and full charge.

 

Your order is deemed to be accepted once it has been processed and dispatched. Please ensure that the expiry date on the card supplied is after the expected dispatch date as we may not be able to charge your card and therefore process your order.

 Your order may not be accepted for reasons including but not exclusive to the following;

• Products ordered are unavailable or unsuitable to dispatch.
• We are unable to obtain funds from your bank
• Pricing or description errors on the products you have ordered.
• For any reason you do not comply with these terms and conditions at the time of dispatch.

Items marked (CR)

Where an item is marked (CR) on the product description anywhere on our website, TJ Hughes is not the seller. In these cases TJ Hughes is not involved in the transaction between buyer and seller and is not the agent of and has not had authority for either, for any purpose. Accordingly, the contract formed is solely between buyer and seller. The enforcement of any contractual obligations arising out of the completion of a transaction is the responsibility of buyers and sellers party to that transaction. TJ Hughes is not obligated to enforce or execute fulfillment of any contract.

Refunds/Exchanges

Where we are happy to offer a, refund or exchange on faulty goods, this can only be dealt with through our internet site and cannot be completed at a local TJ Hughes store.

Cancellation Policy

We offer a refund on perfect and unused products returned within 7 days of receiving your order. (Please note that TJ Hughes stores offer a 28 day return policy on goods which we are unable to offer on-line).

In order for TJ Hughes to continue to offer great products at great prices, we will only cover the delivery cost to return an item if it is deemed to be faulty or unfit for the intended purpose. If the cost of returning your faulty item is in excess of £7.50 please contact us and we will arrange a free collection as we cannot offer a postage refund above this amount.

 

We recommend that you obtain proof of delivery for any item that you return as faulty, as this will be required in the event that your parcel does not reach us.

 

In an instance where a parcel does not reach us and proof of delivery cannot be produced, we regret that we will be unable to offer a refund.

 

For our Customers safety we do not accept returned cosmetics, fragrance,  mattresses, mattress toppers, duvets, pillows, earrings, piercing jewellery or swimwear/underwear unless faulty, not as described or unfit for intended purpose. 

 

In the event of TJ Hughes arranging for a courier collection of an item that is intended for return, all items must in this instance be safely and suitably repackaged. Failure to do so will result in the collection being refused. TJ Hughes does not accept responsibility for the disposal of any consignments original packaging, and we regret that it will not be possible for us to replace such packaging, should your item/s need to be returned.

All our courier collection services operate on a Mon-Fri rota, and we regret that it will not be possible for us to offer a weekend collection service, irrespective of circumstance.

(Please allow 24 hours to reply during working hours)

Privacy Policy

TJ Hughes has made a commitment to our Customers to protect their privacy. Any information that we obtain from you is for the use of placing and dispatching your order. With your express consent, we may in the future, contact you with information and news regarding the products and services that we offer. Your personal details will, under no circumstance, be passed or sold on to third party companies. All the information that we gather from your order is held on a secure server in order to reduce every risk of unauthorised access to your personal details. TJ Hughes may, from time to time, use customer details to help in developing our website and company but this is done purely for us to be able to continue to offer outstanding value of the items that you want.

We can assure you that we comply with all of the regulations that are required from the UK Data Protection Act.

Security

If you believe that your card has been fraudulently used on our site or that your password is know by another, please ensure that you inform us immediately.

Availability

Every effort is made to ensure that the items that we feature on our website are in stock. However, in the unlikely event that a product you have ordered is not in stock or unavailable, we may take steps to contact you either by e-mail, telephone or letter to advise. You are then entitled to cancel your order completely, exchange for a different product of the same value or if the item is temporarily out of stock, if you wish, wait for the item to come back in stock. Alternatively if we believe that the item you wish to order will not be replenished we will not accept your order and inform you.

Description

All reasonable care has been made to ensure that the product description and specification is correct. However, specification details may change. We endeavor to keep all of the information held on this site up to date and accurate. We cannot confirm the price or description of any goods until your order is accepted.

Pricing

Prices are inclusive of VAT and all prices are stated in pounds sterling.

If we refer to a product’s price and show what the previous selling price was, the item will have been offered for sale either in one of our stores or on our web site for that price for a period of 28 days out of the previous 6 months. Unless stated otherwise.

For customers benefit there may be some links to external websites providing information relevant to the product advertised. In these cases TJ Hughes accepts no liability for the content of these sites.

From time to time we may have advertising from other companies on our site. It is the responsibility of the advertising company to ensure that any adverts are correct and legal and TJ Hughes accept no liability for any errors or faults.

 TJ Hughes wish to provide the very best service possible to our customers however this site is provided free of charge to our customers and TJ Hughes make no guarantees as to it’s availability or that the site will be fault free.
